AN OASIS FOR SHIFT WORKERS IN THE FAR NORTH

Working in oil and gas fields is always associated with a long stay away from home. Shift workers have to work in the Far North in difficult climatic and living conditions. Drastic changes in this aspect could increase efficiency and attract highly qualified specialists. The first step in this direction was taken by Gazpromneft. A unique multifunctional shift complex was built and put into operation at the Alexander Zhagrin field in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.
An entire micro-city with an area of 12.5 thousand square meters includes everything necessary for recuperation and rest after work. The construction of the complex was carried out using innovative frame technology and advanced solutions for autonomous spaces, which is technically difficult due to the 500 km distance from Khanty-Mansiysk. The builders managed to combine the comfort of urban space and smart home technology. The functionality of the complex fully supports the exterior design. The facade is made in the form of large-scale canvases, as if in a haze depicting the crowns of trees.
This effect was achieved using perforated aluminium cassettes with a thickness of 2 mm. The noble copper shade was obtained due to the powder coating. The cassettes for this project were developed and created by the Russian company GRADAS. In the climatic conditions of the Far North, such a facade coating will serve for many years. The unique facade is highlighted by the exterior lighting, consisting of 650 LED lamps, turning the complex into a fantastic northern ark. The creation of such a multifunctional complex is important not only for Gazpromneft, but it is also a prime example of the use of modern technologies and new standards for the work of people in the northern latitudes and opens new horizons for the development of that industry.
